Recently featured as part of an exhibition in the Guggenheim Museum, these pieces are part of Trecy Bleich's Rice Collection. We have a very limited number of these delicate necklaces, which are hand-beaded with Japanese glass and 14K gold-filled beads on a 14K gold-filled chain. The minimal design was created to represent the women of West Africa who were brought by forced migration to America during the 17th and 18th centuries, specifically for their skill in rice cultivation. The colors of the collection represent blue for water and green for the color of the rice plant. Trecy's Rice Stack earrings are also available. The necklace is about 20" and the pendant is 1.5" long.
